This is the hardest condolence I’ve ever written & its taken over 4 weeks to write in memory of our loyal friend Damien.

Our sincere sympathy to Phil, Lisa, Carly & Kyle on your unimaginable loss.

Damien was the ultimate politician & gave local politics the credibility it deserves. The national political stage awaited a real man of the people.

Only God knows why you were taken in your prime but he obviously needed you by his side.

Rest easy dear friend, thinking of you every day.

Please accept our sincere condolences on your great loss. I hope you find comfort in good memories during this difficult time. Damien was a great friend and supporter of Ashbourne Cumann. We enjoyed his company on many campaign trails over the years and benefited from his assistance on many more occasions in his life as a public representative, to which he dedicated himself to so ardently.
To Lisa, Carly, Kyle, and Phil.
My deepest sympathies at this very difficult and heart breaking time.
Damien was my tea break buddy in Leinster House. That usually took place at 9.30, because Damien would have had a day’s work done at that stage. We always had goods chats, laughs and sorted out the world.
He loved his Family, Dunboyne, Meath, and politics. He had time for everyone. In your short life you fitted in a whole lot. We will all miss you, Damien.
My Thoughts prayers are with you all at this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Phil, Lisa, Carly and Kyle on the loss of a mighty young man. Damien thanks for all the laughs over the years - we met in Wildwood NJ a lifetime ago but was lucky enough to have met through different phases of life. You will be missed by everyone and the community of Dunboyne will never be the same. RIP Damien ! My thoughts and prayers are with your family and community at this extremely difficult time.
We are very sad to learn of Damien's passing away. We pray to GOD to grant him a lot of peace and his family strength to bare his tragic loss at a very young age.
I met Damien a few times and found him very courteous and respectful. I learnt a lot from other people about him which he would not tell himself. A very humble person. He was elected councillor for a few years and very much down to earth person always looking to help. In fact many a times he would stop his car and enquire of the people he knew if they needed any help, a quality rare these days.
Damien was a very well educated person and came from a humble background and possibly future Taoiseach caliber. He never talked about it. GOD had other more important plans for him. We are grateful to GOD for all the years he granted.
Damian what can I say that hasn’t been said allready , your passing has shocked everyone and you will never be forgotten . You made a difference and thank you for all you done . Your shoes will never be replaced. Rip Thinking of Phil Lisa Carly and Kyle . Xx

RIP Damien
I was so shocked when I read the news of Damien’s passing on Saturday.
Although I don’t believe we have seen each other in person since we left St Peter’s College in 2001 as I moved to the UK a few months after we left school and have lived over here 22yrs now.
We have kept in touch on social media and actually Damien tried to help me in December 2019 when both of my children’s Irish passport applications were delayed and we were due to travel to Ireland just before new years. Although it turned out that it was Royal Mail that lost them he couldn’t have been more helpful emailing the passport office and trying to get it sorted for me.
I have fond memories of Damien during our time together in St Peter’s College and I’m so glad as a former Dunboyne resident to see how much he done for our village over the years. I have followed his work from the UK and read lots of articles on the work that he has done. I was especially happy to see his work with an autism school as both of my children are autistic/adhd and my eldest who is now 13 attends a special school and I know how important having the right school for an autistic child is.

Condolences to all of Damien’s family & friends and especially his fiancé and children. My thoughts are with you all. A great man taken way too soon x x
My deepest sympathy to all Damien’s family on his sad and untimely passing. May he rest in peace.
