My sincere condolences on Criostoir’s sad passing.

He was a lifelong friend of my late dad, Eamon Corcoran. I knew him from early childhood and remember him as being a lovely man. I collected for
the Northern Children’s Holidays (later Between) from when I was about 10 years old.

I met Criostoir many times over the decades. I last met him in April 2019 when I was visiting my mum, Maire, at the nursing home where his wife Maire was staying.

I had a number of good conversations with Criostoir during that period about his friendship with my dad and other things.

My sincere condolences on your sad loss to his family.

I was very sad to hear of Criostóir’s passing. I have wonderful memories of him at Between. I’ve never come across a more humane man. No wonder we all said his name with reverence.

I am very sorry to hear of Criostoir passing, I have such fond memories of his visits to my parents (Domhnall and Maire ) at the Lough and his passion to support people & causes that were really needed. May he rest in peace.

May I offer my condolences on behalf of my late father John Cullen. Sean worked with my dad for many years in UCC .
My dad always spoke very fondly and admirably of Sean and considered him a good friend. May he rest in peace

A giant oak that gave shelter to so many people over the decades has fallen. Críostóir fearlessly defended the rights of those with no voice, promoted justice all his life and was, in every sense a fíor Gael. As far back as 1961 he was active in founding Scéim na gCeardchuman and Dunlaoi was the centre of our world with all kinds of activities from historical events to Irish language classes. I remember him an Máire with great affection and with great gratitude. Críostóir has left a significant legacy not only to Cork but also Belfast. He will live forever in our memories.
