My deepest condolences to David, Patricia, Emily, Melanie and Dorinda. I have such fond memories of driving across Dublin city in the ‘80s on dark Friday evenings to meet my friend David to discuss and plan our next mountain adventure but far more importantly to be treated by Cynthia to Tea and an endless supply of chocolate biscuits (not many houses in Dublin were that well stocked in those days) and some great conversation with her. She was always so cheery, warm and welcoming. Very fond memories of such a lovely woman...

My she Rest In Peace.
Deepest sympathy to Dorinda, Paul and the Kenny family.
Farewell Cynthia, a lady of the highest caliber, personality and generosity. Always smiling, welcoming and enquiring after your wellbeing.
Good company, with a sense of humour which could catch off guard, but leave you laughing.
Dorinda was blessed to have you as a mother and friend and she showed her unconditional love for you in your final years. You'll never be forgotten.

Cynthia Kenny, or Nana as she was known to my sister and me, was a woman who always had a story to tell. She possessed certain qualities I now recognise in myself such as an appreciation for life’s finer things, a sense of stubbornness, and a fondness for ladybirds and berets.

Many childhood memories stem from our Sunday dinners, followed by Bird’s trifle for dessert, then the hum of the television, the fuzziness of the rose mat upon which I sat, and in winter the soft glow of the Christmas tree’s filaments phasing through colours. And not to forget, the magic cushion, with its golden tassels, under which presents never failed to manifest. She spoiled her granddaughters in the best of ways.

Family moves with time, drifting and clashing, much like tectonic plates creating rifts and mountains. My last visit to Nana Kenny was a year ago. I am glad I got to show her some of my own textile work, that my sister and I had the chance to update her on recent events. She spoke of deeply missing Granddad while also reminding us of how much he loved us. I am glad they can both be at peace.

Death brings great sorrow and grief, but also opportunity for reflection and compassion which are greater still. It prompts us to examine the relationships in our lives. It is this sentiment, as well as my sympathy, that I wish to extend to the fellow relatives and friends of my Nana at this time, particularly at the end of a year most cruel.
Dorinda Our deepest sympathy Cynthia was a beautiful lady full of fun and always laughter she was a great friend we will miss her so much all our love pat mary Rita Trish and family
