It is with the deepest sadness that I heard of Cyril's passing. My heartfelt sympathy to Eileen and all the family. I will remember Cyril as a scholar and a true gentleman.
May Cyril rest in eternal peace.

My deepest sympathies again to Eileen, Mark, Grace, Paul and all your families on the sad passing of Cyril. We worked closely together in UL as friends and colleagues in electronic engineering and researchers in telecommunications engineering -- a lifetime of stories there. And among many other memorable occasions, we golfed on so many good courses in UL's golfing society -he was as steady a golfer as you could get.

I continue to keep you all very much in my thoughts and prayers at this sad time.

I really only met Cyril with Tim at Engineering dress dances or similar events. It has been a long time as we left Limerick in 1997. Cyril always had a lovely presence & Tim (who slipped away 3 weeks before him) was very fond of Cyril. I'm sure they are having a great catch-up in the next world. My sympathies to all Cyril left behind, but his presence remains with those he loved & influenced.

Sincere sympathy to the Burkley family on the death of Cyril. I met him in 1970 when he helped our small Masters group in using the only college IBM computer in UCC, involving punching programs on cards, operating the machine and printing results. He was a lovely, friendly, clever man.

I was very sorry to hear about Cyril. I first encountered him as a postgrad in the UCC electronics department when I was a student there. Later when I worked in MAC at NIHE, there he was again: an electronics lecturer. He was always cheerful and helpful and he was a pleasure to work with. More recently I met him at UL retired staff or at Probus meetings. He was always pleased to be involved. My sincere condolences to his family. He will be sorely missed.
