I am sorry to hear that Cyril has passed on. I feel sympathy for Jean and their children and for Wilfie and Elizabeth who are bearing a profound loss. I remember Cyril building a wooden walk bridge to allow my grandmother Annie (Skeath) Farrelly walk from the Glaslough Road over a stream into her back field. He often gave her a lift home from Monaghan town on Saturdays. I remember him coming to the Curragh Military Camp to minister for a brief time. Like everybody who knew him I felt as a young person, "He is a good man." And like many others I remember the excitement and fun of the show-jumping events in Garlands. My Uncle Tommy's eyes stood out like stalks when he saw all the fine horses and ponies. My grandmother regularly said that she was lucky to have the best neighbours in the world in Cyril and Wilfie. I hope that as the days pass you will find comfort in the lovely memories you all have of Cyril and smile at the thought of this good man.
