My daughter, Grainne, was privileged to attend Sandford Park from 2017 to 2020. Each and every interaction I had with Mr Hoffman was both courteous and professional.
I am shocked at his premature death and my deepest sympathies are with his family and the Sandford Park community of which he was such a pillar.

Scarcely believe that this has come to pass. I worked with Cyril from 1992 until 2016. Cyril was entirely committed to the wellbeing of each child who passed through Sandford Park School. My deepest condolences to his family in the kingdom.

Deeply shocked to hear of Cyril's sudden passing. I worked with him for many years and he was truely dedicated to Sandford Park School. He will be dearly missed by the whole school commmunity. My sincere condolences to the Hoffman family at this very sad time.

Mr Hoffman as he was known to us, made such a wonderful impression when we visited Sandford Park for the first time four years ago. His ability to demonstrate candor with wit was greatly appreciated, and was always very kind with Charlotte and our family. Our deepest condolences to the Hoffman family.

Our deepest sympathies to the Hoffman family. As a parent of 2 boys in Sandford we always knew him as Mr Hoffman. He was always a pleasure to meet, he had a twinkle in his eye and a keen wit. He knew all the boys and parents. He was firm but strict and displayed empathy with the younger boys. As the boys moved through the school and the boys earned his respect and he theirs they became almost friends.

We will miss him. May he rest in peace.

Mr Hoffman was so dedicated to Sandford Park, so professional, with a wonderful dry sense of humour which was always evident in his highly entertaining speeches. His undoubted affection, care and commitment for all the students was clear to see.
No doubt everyone in Sandford has been incredibly blessed by the immense contribution he made over the last three decades and will feel his loss profoundly. We are grateful that for the last four years Aisling benefited from this special experience which Mr Hoffman was intrinsically a part of.

Deeply saddened to learn of Mr Hoffman’s passing, he was a true gentleman who taught not only the academic subjects, but through his actions and words demonstrated loyalty, integrity and compassion. On hearing the sad news, our class WhatsApp group lit up with fond memories and stories that show just how big an impact Mr Hoffman had on all of our lives, over 20 years ago. Those memories, the smiles they induce, will last forever. RIP Sir.

Cyril was one of the kindest men I have ever met; a perfect gentleman. Whenever disaster struck, Cyril would fix you a cup of sugary tea and lend a reassuring ear. It always did the trick. On behalf of the members and Committee of the Ranelagh Singers, I entend our deepest condolences to Cyril’s family and to the Principal, staff and students in Sandford Park School. From reading the other messages it is clear that Cyril was greatly loved and respected by all who knew him. The Ranelagh Singers benefited from his kind thoughtfulness as he provided the link between us and Sandford Park where he organised for us to use the school music room for our weekly choir practices - in this he was always considerate, welcoming and very kind. His loss will be deeply felt throughout the community.

My deepest sympathy to Cyril's bereaved family, especially to his mother and sisters. What a loss you must endure. Cyril was a colleague of mine for 20 years in Sandford from 1997 to 2017, and in that time I witnessed him giving his absolute all to the school. May he rest in peace.

We are so sad to hear of Mr. Hofmann’s passing. He was so kind to our family and so thoughtful every time we came to school events. His humour and his commitment to the students and the school was wonderful to observe. Our son Chris had a very happy experience of Sandford Park and we will always remember Mr. Hofmann with huge affection. Every time I think of him I smile, even at this sad, sad time. It was awful to hear about Mr Hoffman's tragic passing. He was always so warm and an example to all of us. His customary 'housekeeping' and quotes from various writers at the end of assembly will be sorely missed at Sandford. Condolences to his family and RIP.

Cyril was a humble and selfless gentleman of many talents.

Memories included his geography classes where seemingly dull topics were made interesting, his humour especially while on school trips, his leadership on the rugby pitch, seeing him promoted to deputy principal level and hearing of his schoolboy days with Munster Rugby. During my time in Sandford, it was abundantly clear he was a friend to many staff members in the school

He may have been a teacher by profession, but it was his selflessness, humility, integrity and dedication not only to student learning on the pitch and in the classroom but also school life that made him an educator in the full sense of the term.

Current school life has been shaped by his many years of service and loyalty. Thankfully this legacy will live on beside his memory.

My sincere condolences to his family, friends and the current school community. His untimely departure will leave a huge void.
