Condolences to Cyril's family on their sad loss. Another song that Cyril sang was "Bantry Bay". We watched his funeral Mass this afternoon on the internet. No doubt, if more people were permitted to attend, the Church would have been packed. May he rest in peace.
Both of us were officers of United Arts Club and Cyril attention to detail as Honorary Secretary was remarkable but when the meeting was over a glass of red was had in friendship.
Cyril to me was an outstanding member who while he devoted his time to the stewardship of the club also supported the young members by buying art and attending poetry evenings or music events
A true friend to me and a person I trusted and it was reciprocal.
