Dayo was a friend of my youth when I lived at Glencree in 1978-79. In 1984, I returned to attend Lorraine's wedding and I stayed for 2 weeks in Dayo and Alice's home. I hold very dear the memory of their generosity. The entire Cahill family was very welcoming to me, a foreigner.
Though I've only known Dayo through facebook in recent years, I will honor his memory, as I have honored my memories of Trevor and Lorraine. I want all the family to know what goodness and decency you all reperesent. It is remembered and still cherished across an ocean and a continent in Arizona, where I live now.

Passing on not only my own condolences but those of Angela and Richard Loudon who wished Alice, Zack and Lily to know that their thoughts are with them.
I knew Dayo since my childhood but didn't really know him until we were in touch in recent years via Facebook and chatted about music, family and loss. I always thought of him as a talented artist but didn't know the scope of his musical talent until recent years. I had always wanted to get down to the harbour bar to see the Larry's. He certainly made his mark on this world and left many people the better for having known him and I hope that comes as some comfort to his love ones. With love

I have no words to express how sorry I feel at Damian's death. I only got to know him in the last few years of his life but I feel like I knew him forever. We had great chats about life and more importantly his beloved music. He will be so missed

Thanks so much Dayo. I used to spend my teenage days going through your vast CD collection and listening to Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and wondering who the hell all these amazing musicians were.

Most of all I wanted to say thanks to you for teaching Zack to play guitar. If he didn't pick up the guitar,I wouldn't have picked up the drums - an instrument I've played for 20+ years now and will continue to rock with until I'm an old man.

You're leaving behind an amazing legacy, friends, family, great nights and adventures. Thanks so much.

So sad to hear the news. When I was visiting Easons in Dublin Damian and I would often sit outside the Mariner pub on the key and chat while watching Dublin pass by. Happy memories! I had intended surprising him in Bray by suddenly appearing at one of his music sessions but, sadly, that was not to be. At least we were able to communicate on social media - some consolation. Rest in Peace, D.

Sincere condolences to all of Damian’s family. He was a true gentleman who was a pleasure to work with. His deep love for his children and his enjoyment of music were always apparent to all he met. May he rest in peace.

Condolences to Alice, Zach & Lily. I worked with Dayo from c 1982 - 2002. We worked in a old building in the city centre, a former print works & stable and without windows. We didn't need windows as Dayo illuminated the office with good cheer, a sense of humour and bonhomie. We shared our commute and Dayo entertained with his knowledge of music. I will never know the difference between a Fender and a Gibson but Dayo was the expert. Keep on rockin Dayo you enlightened those of us lucky enough to have shared your friendship. RIP.

Deepest condolences to all the Cahill family. I met Damian soon after he moved to Bray at the Bar in the Harbour, his second home. We had many a great night there and he introduced me to some great music. He was always talking about his kids, he was very proud of you both. He'll be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure to know him. I've no doubt that he's still Rockin' in Heaven. RIP Damian xx
