So sorry to hear the sad news of Damien's recent passing. I have lovely memories of Damien's last year in Scoil Mochua. He was a pleasure to teach and to be honest I learned as much from Damien as he did from me! I remember his kindness, maturity and great sense of humour with great fondness. May he rest in peace.

He was such a quiet, funny lad — the kind who didn’t need to say much to make you smile. His humour was subtle but always landed, and his respectful nature made him a pleasure to have around. He had a way of brightening the room without ever trying to be the centre of it..

Loved meeting and having the craic with Damien who was an inspiration to everyone . . . accessibility standards better be up to scratch up above because this power of nature will give them a right earful . . . so sorry for your loss Jean.

Dear Damo’s loving family,

I was so saddened to hear about Damien’s passing, and I wanted to extend my deepest condolences to you all.

I will always remember him as a young, bright man with a truly hilarious sense of humour. He had a special way of lifting the mood and bringing light to those around him, and he will always stay in my heart.

I only heard the sad news today. I was a school friend of Aishling many years ago. Anybody who had the gift of coming into contact with the Mahady family had the pleasure of meeting Damo. A young man with humour and warmth for everybody. Reflecting as an older women now, it is not surprise how Damien faced his challenges as a gentle, warm, positive human being. His brave Mum that raising her beautiful strong family during the 80's and 90's humbles me to this day. I am deeply sorry for your loss. My prayers and thought are with you all. RIP Damo.

What a lovely young gentleman Damien was. Always in good humour, it was a pleasure to see him when out for a walk. He would always give a big shout out to say make sure he said hello to our special needs son, Paul. We will miss meeting him and Gizmo as he took in St Mary’s Park on his rounds.
