Damien Foran

Damien was one of the most interesting and intelligent and well informed people I have ever met. He was fascinating to know and converse with, as well as being kind, sensitive and always courteous to everyone He had a deeply spiritual nature and an unassailable faith in Divinity and was so well versed in theology and all the world religions, particularly Judaism. He was really excited about his life post EI which makes his untimely passing so heartbreaking but God had a different plan for Damien and called him home. I will miss him, he was a unique individual. I learned a lot from him.

Damien....yesterday Dad and myself said our final goodbyes to you. Something Dad never thought he would have to do in his life time. I was inspired by Damien,met him in my first band in 1982 and he was an excellent lead guitarist with a beautiful tone and technique. They say when someone dies,a Library burns,this was truly the case with Damien. He was a Biblical Scholar who knew the Bible and Torah inside out,he could quote any passage from it and his knowledge of theology was second to none,above all this though was his love of Cats,he adored them. He was a gentle,humble and wonderful man who will be very sadly missed.

This sucks... Damien did not deserve this. He was a good man who genuinely went out of his way to try to do the right thing more times than not, and made me chuckle with all texts and confuddlements on life. As long-lost brothers go he was the best I ever had and more importantly the best I ever could have wished to have. Very kind and genuine, he was credible sticking to his beliefs as long as it didn't hurt others. A lover of debate, politics, history and music, he taught me the importance of understanding your roots and living the best life for your descendants long before I understood why that was important. My deepest wishes to all of his family in Dublin and Wexford.
