Damien Martin

So sorry to hear about Damians sudden passing and our deepest condolences to all the Martin Family, extended Family and friends.

Damian was part of our childhood growing up in New Ross all those years ago now.


May Damian rest in peace always.

I was very shocked to read the very sad news about Damien. Damian cut my hair for nearly 10 years and seemed such a genuinely nice man and interested in many different topics as well as being quite the character.  He was the best hairdresser I’ve ever had and so I was very happy that he was able to cut my hair for my wedding and after we moved out of London I continued going to him. I remember he spoke fondly of his childhood as one of eight and was very proud of how his mother coped! He would kindly ask after my young twins. He always remembered how I would enjoy having some Hello mags to flick through! He will be much missed.

Dear Damien, I hope you know that you are truly missed. You left earth too early. There was so much you wanted to do, so many stories you didn’t have the chance to tell me. I know you are resting in peace now. It was a pleasure to meet an amazing person like you. We will see each other on the other side my dear Damien.
I will forever remember you.

While Shawn was my hairdresser, there were many occasions on which Damien and I would chat. Damien was always warm and welcoming. He was my wife's hairdresser, and he evinced genuine concern about her health, which became impaired. Damien was always kind, gentle and caring. He will be sorely missed.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy at this very sad time, not only to the Martin family, but also to Shawn. Damien was always interested in people and travelling. He was welcoming and showed great warmth to all. RIP and he will be missed so much.

He treated me like royalty and I always looked forward to our long chats while he worked his magic. He was such a highly skilled artist. My husband also entrusted his very tricky curly hair to him, and my little boy loved sitting on my lap and eating biscuits in the salon. I cannot express how much I will miss him! Sending much love to all, we have all lost a wonderful man, but I hope you take comfort that so many people feel the same way.

I am very sad to have heard about his death and express my deepest condolences to you as his family. As one of his clients, we had a number of conversations about his home and family in Ireland and his travels to Germany and Spain. He always spoke very fond and in amazing pictures about his memories of his family and travels. RIP Damien, definitely a good person who has left us far too early.

When we left London after 25 years and moved to Surrey I tried a few local hairdressers but in the end returned to Fulham, not just because Damien was an excellent hairdresser but because he was such a lovely man. Always friendly and welcoming, never rushed, and interested in his clients and their views. I will miss him.

As one of Damien's clients, I send my sympathy and condolences to all of his family and friends for their sad, untimely loss. He was a wonderful hairdresser and a good, gentle man. He will be much missed.

Rest in peace, dear Damien. You always cut my hair so beautifully, that was a given, but what I really enjoyed were our conversations, whether on coming to London in the 80’s, what was on at the theatre, or our experiences of learning languages. And I’ll never forget your kindness to my depressed cousin who arrived in the salon looking a fright but emerged, transformed. I shall miss you.

My kindest thoughts and wishes to Damien’s family and his friends at this very difficult and sad time. May the loving memories of such a talented, kindly, true gentleman bring comfort and strength to you all. I first visited his salon at the turn of the century! and when his salon moved, I followed… and, am so very happy I did. Damien was always soooo welcoming when I came for my appointments with Shawn. Deepest sympathy to Damien's family at this sad time. I knew Damien as a client for more than 25 years. He was a lovely man and a great hair stylist. During that time he cut my and my wife's hair, including for our wedding day, and also, in time, our children's hair. It just feels that he has always been part of our life in Fulham. It really was a pleasure, not a chore, to go to the salon, with good conversation, laughter, tea, biscuits and Hello magazine. Damien will be truly missed by all that knew him. by Damien and Shawn to the Fulham gem of a salon. This was for my first post covid hair doo, when salons opened again.Damien was a lovely, friendly, genuine man. I will miss Damien and chatting to him very much. Condolences to Shawn, Family and Friends💇‍♀️

I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Damien. I didn't know him well, but he was always very welcoming when I came into his salon. I knew Damien for over 20 years, as a client of the salon and Shawn. He was a gentle, kind man, who enjoyed a good laugh and always had a story to tell. He spoke often and lovingly of his family back in Ireland and told tales of them growing up together. He has been taken too soon. He will be missed by the community and certainly by his many clients, and of course by his loving family. Sending heartfelt condolences to all the Martin family.
