I was very sorry to hear of Damien's passing after returning from holidays and missing the funeral. I have great memories of Damien from Harry's time in St. Conleth's Junior School. A real character. Condolences to Harry.

A man of charm, wit, wisdom, refinement and genuine good will and generosity. He always knew how to lift the mood at the school gate (Headley and St Conleths) and made my son and I welcome in a Dublin we hardly knew. Every time I see a silver Porsche I think of Damien (and will continue to do so!). And what a fine young man Harry is: a wonderful tribute to Damien and a precious legacy.

Damien & I go back a long way-first time I met him was under a snooker table in his parents home-ten of us were hiding under there when his parents unexpectedly returned home whilst he was having a ‘free house!’ His cheeky grin & wry sense of humour will be much missed. Condolences to Harry and all of the Murphy family.

We and so many other people on Pembroke Lane are saddened to learn of the passing of our friend & former neighbour Damien Murphy. We first met him clearing snow maybe a decade or more ago. We helped him with his old Peugeot when he downgraded from his beloved BMW & thrilled him with an exhilarating spin in our EV. We shared stories about old Bristols in the 50s where there were related family ties. We supported him when the building between us was being significantly renovated, with a view to securing his foundations. We were very saddened when his partner June died. We often had great chats with his son Harry on the lane before they moved out (presumably because Damien was ill). We're grateful to have known them all for a good while and that we had shared pleasant moments together. We enjoyed Damien's personality and wry sense of humour, his interest in property & love of sports and cars.

I was so sorry to learn of Damien’s passing. What a lovely gentleman whose smile I will never forget. My very deepest sympathies to Harry and Damien’s extended family. Myself and my beloved partner were greatfull that we have met Damien, as neighbours, for a good while and that we have shared precious moments together. I was so sad to hear of Damiens sudden passing.We first met when I was a student writing a thesis and needed advice from a property developer.Damien was flying high at the time but could not have been more helpful or generous with his time Over the years we became very good friends and the words that best describe Damien to me are kind generous and fun all traits which he has passed on to Harry. Damien always looked on the bright side of life even in recent years when the challenges could not have been tougher.I am travelling abroad at the moment and am so sorry not to be there to say goodbye.My condolences to Harry and the Murphy family.

Very saddened to hear this news about Damien. I first met him in Ealing Tennis Club in London in the late '80s and we had some great times. He was a true survivor and fighter. No matter what life threw at him, particularly in the challenging property business, he always looked on the bright side and kept going. He was a real friend and I will miss him dearly. My condolences to Harry, Bruce, Adrian, his step sons and the wider Murphy family.

I knew Damien through Bective Rangers FC and was often in his company which was always very enjoyable. He was a lovely warm, kind man ,may he rest in peace.

I too shared a birthday with Damien , an event we celebrated every year for c 45 years , and also played with Damien’s infamous Bective 3rd Ds for a few seasons. Great memories.
