I was deeply saddened to hear the news; my thoughts are with Katy and the children during this incredibly difficult time. Damien was such a big personality who touched the lives of so many, and his memory will always live on in the hearts of those who knew them. I only worked with him for a relatively short time - but he became simply my best friend at work. Brilliant, funny, tough, but genuinely kind to all around him, i will miss him.

I had the privilege of working with Damien at Santander. He was always, kind, lively, good humoured and a pleasure to interact with. I'll always remember he always had a bottle of lucozade in meetings (one of my favourite drinks of choice). I always wondered if he had it because it calmed his tummy like me. I used to bump into Damien as he dropped Emma and I dropped Alice to nursery in Redhill. Always so smiley and chirpy. He from Cork and me from Galway we had a bit of banter. Damien’s energy was great, we joked about ‘drop and dash’. Such a lovely guy, such a big loss for Katy and their lovely girls. Heartfelt condolences to Katy and the O’Sullivan family. PSA/SFS has never felt the same after Damien left in 2023, now we are all heartbroken losing him forever. I never worked in Finance but feel fortunate to have known him and worked with him for a few years on the Risk side of things. How could we forget his infectious laugh, generosity, brilliance, kindness, tremendous energy... his legacy will live on at PSA/SFS, we will keep Damien in our hearts and memories.

I am deeply heartbroken to hear about the passing of Damien. He was a remarkable man—kind, understanding, and always looking out for those around him. I usually count myself as good with words, unfortunately some events in life leave you speechless or without the words to truly express how you feel. I think in losing Damien so suddenly and unexpectedly the best word I’ve conjured up in my head was heartbroken. Heartbroken for all Damien’s family, children, friends and all my good colleagues who will miss Damien so dearly. I’m also sad for those who Damien will never meet, there was still so much to give, but I hope now he’s at peace and in time this pain will pass and we will all be able to look back with fondness and affection at so many happy memories we all shared. I will remember Damien firstly as a colleague, then more a friend and lastly as my boss. I count myself amongst the lucky ones who experienced at first hand an incredibly sharp wit, undoubted talent, work ethic but most of all an understated caring touch that I think all of us will have felt at some stage of our time with Damien. Every interaction we had was always interesting, probing and often spiced up with humour that very few could ever match. An outstanding person and a generous soul, I wish so very much you were still here, may you rest in peace and long live your memory. You have left this world a poorer place, but without doubt you enriched every person’s life that you touched. Goodbye my friend. Mark (+ Jane and Max)

Our sincere condolences to all of Damien's family. I repeated 6th year in school and didn't know many of the lads in the year. I ended up sitting next to Damien in Biology and was immediately drawn towards his warm friendly smile. He integrated me in to his group of friends and made it an easy transition. I would love to say that I learned loads in Biology but it was impossible with his constant chat. It quickly became one of my favourite classes as i knew wed have a bit of craic. The world will spin a little sadder without him. I cant imagine your grief at this time. May he rest in peace

Damien was truly one of a kind. His quick wit and sense of humour always managed to put a smile on everyone’s faces, even on difficult days. He was kind, compassionate and incredibly clever.
