Sincere belated Condolences to the Curtin Family on the sad passing of Dan. Having met Dan originally about 10 years ago through his role in Dairygold, I was very fortunate to have got to know him over the years since. It was with shock - I only heard of his passing on Friday and I am still recalling meetings and chats had with Dan. It is written time and time here in condolences and I have to, with all sincerity add and say He truly was a pure Gentleman. May he rest in peace.

It was only today we heard of Dan's tragic accent.We are deeply saddened by this news he was a total gent and always full of chat and crack may he rest in peace

I thought about what to write here but no words can speak the tragic loss of a great kind , empathetic, understanding witty and true gentleman!!, I am grateful to have worked with Dan in the milk lab and more so in 23 when we shared an office and enjoyed many chats from work , motorbikes to life and of course GAA, he’s knowledge was amazing , I hope you take comfort in knowing you had a wonderful husband and Dad , rest in peace Dan 🙏

This is a tragic loss. Dan was taken way before his time but as we all know life doesn’t bring with it any guarantees. I have very fond memories of him from our days in St Flannan’s together from almost 45 years ago. I remember him and Maurice and myself sharing a room when I first started to attend there. I had a hard time adjusting at the beginning; all I wanted to do was to go home to my mommy and I remember he was very kind and big brotherly toward me then and thereafter and I really appreciated that. I hadn’t seen him much since we parted ways at school but I still remember his great enthusiasm and thirst for life including his love of hurling. My heart goes out to Marion, Eoin, Ruth and Brian and to Breda, Maurice and Carmel, Miriam, Gerard, and to their families and to all the extended family. He was a fine fella’ and will be sorely missed.
