I'm truly heartbroken for you Sinéad, yourself and your Dad were as thick as thieves, you had the most amazing relationship, always making us laugh back in our Rilmout Days, your Dad always looked out for me too and for that I am forever grateful, a true gentleman and such a character, an honour to have worked with him and have him look after me during our College Days too. The news of Dan's passing was a deep shock to so many of us .
Dan was there most of my life from my childhood years in Boyne St flats I remember him coming to stay when he got his job in The the Gas company.
And how each week Dan would indeed buy us a bar of chocolate Mind you while Ann and I received a 3 d bar Pat got the 6 d bar .plus he was the one that gave us a few pennies each week unknowingly to our father .
Yes each of us as in my Brother And sister will have our own individual and shared memories of a much-loved uncle
I will always remember him not only for being my God Father and uncle but I will always remember him as a very independent and strong-willed man once he got a notion or a idea into his head God himself wouldn't of changed it.
Yes Dan was has many has said one of life's true gentlemen he was affectionately a father and a very much grandfather too and his passing will leave a deep void your life's
Once again my apologies that I cannot be there with you at this sad and dark time for you in the physical sense but I will be there in spirit and I will be at the mass on-line

Having had the privilege of knowing and working with Danny, I am truly sorry for your loss, he was a true character and wonderful person and I know he will never be forgotten.
