Sincere sympathy to Sheila, Kevin, Elaine, Dan, Denise, the extended O’Connor and Cahillane Families on the very sad passing of Arthur.
It was always a great pleasure to meet Arthur and his very good friend, the late Ted of Coom, during my visits back home to Blackwater.
Arthur had a great interest and knowledge of many sports outside of Gaelic Games.
During his time in London he played for Round Towers Gaelic football team and soccer as a goalie in the Business Houses competitions.
He was very happy that he saw the Busby Babes play their last game away to Arsenal on English soil the weekend before the Munich Air disaster. He held onto that match
programme despite many lucrative offers over years. I was very privileged to see it.
May the Good Lord have mercy on his gentle soul.
