Sincere sympathy to the Murphy family on the loss of a such a good man who spoke of every one of you with such pride. I worked with Dan on Fair City since 2008. He brought me many a bunch of rhubarb and we whiled away the hours in between filming having great chats and laughs. There was nothing he didn't know about cars and driving and he gave me some welcome safety advice which I practice still. There was no better company to be in than Dan Murphy's. May he rest in peace.

What a sad day for Dolores and family. We will miss you so much Dan and all your visits to Ballinascorney (us). The call would come in, ‘have you tarts and scones made Rita? I’m coming to visit.’ We would have to have a good fire. Dan on one side and Billy on the other side, and I’d have to sit at the door away from the heat. Dan said he would stick any hardship at the fire. No rhubarb this year Dan, just good memories, and lots of love from Rita and Billy, Ballinascorney.

Dear Dan I'll truly miss you and always Remember you for your decency to me in The council you were the best boss and a gentleman who shared a passion of the trucks and we had great conversations about the Bin lorries and you told me about the Old versions that were operated by a turning screw. Our sincere condolences to Lorraine and all the Murphy Family on the death of your lovely Dad. It was a pleasure to know him. I met Dan back in the 60's when we worked in Donnybrook CIE Garage.
In latter years he travelled around the country with us and the Have Pass Will Travel Active Retirement group where he was held in high esteem and has been sadly missed in recent years because he was no longer able to travel with us. Everyone is remembering him in their prayers.
