So very sad to hear of the passing of Dan and sending love to all the family. I can still remember the phone number of Finnegans where as a kid I would call looking for my parents and Dan would kindly answer. A total gentleman, may he rest in peace.

Finally the time has come to say good bye to another great legendary Cavan man that is Dan .

You can have no regrets you cared so well for your wonderful dad over the years .

He was a unique character & a great visionary ahead of his time . I am sure my dad Larry fellow ex Cavan man & publican is pouring him a large stiff one as I text while they look down on us mere mortals in amusement.

His work here is done and what a legacy!

There are so many fond memories with Dan over the years. I loved when he and my Dad shared stories about St Pat's in Cavan. No matter what, he would always make time to stop and ask how's life, and he had that glint in his eye. A real gent. Dan will be dearly missed by so many.

Dan, a great character. Always good for a chat and hello. My own Dad, Des, pre deceased him by about a fortnight. Whenever they'd meet up they'd regale each other with stories old and new. The two of them were of the same vintage, born in the late 1920's, lived through tough times and appreciated the small things in life; good company, family and friends. No doubt they'll be swopping yarns in heaven! 'Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h'anam dílis'
