Daniel was my chat buddy during the short time I was with him as his carer. He would usually educate me about the world map.

Deepest condolences to the O Brien Family on the sad passing of Dan . The end of an era now that he has joined his siblings and parents and his visits to Castlemaine will be no more. Im reminded of the great welcome his Castlemaine relatives had for their Cork cousins down the years in particular Michael and Moira , and of course Nellie , now 95 yrs and lovingly recalling their childhoods days in Castlemaine, swimming up the Annagh River, on Brendan’s back, and all partaking of their mother Biddies’ renowned baking. We have such great memories of Dan Auntie Chrissy and Bryan visiting us every St Stephen’s day when we were growing up. I got to know Dan better in recent years and always enjoyed meeting him for a coffee or when visiting Auntie Chrissy in Mallow and more recently he would ring me to ask how I was and to have a chat, which I always appreciated.
