Daniel had that rare combination of intellectual curiosity and the ambition to put all of his gifts and skills to best use for people with disabilities, particularly children with visual impairment during his time in ChildVision. I am grateful to have worked with him for many years at the National Braille Production Centre and will always remember his kindness and interest in people.
My heartfelt condolences to Kathryn, Cian, Faye, Daniel's parents, sister Beth and wider family, who were all often talked about with such love by Daniel over coffee.

Dan was a true Christian role model to us all but especially in the Boys Brigade with his work over many years as a leader of the 7th company. His contribution to our Church Service was a blessing he was an accomplished musician and lifted us all with his music and helped us to pray a little better.
He was a fluent Irish Speaker and loved the language. He is going to be missed by so many. I knew Dan many years ago when we were teenagers and while we hadn’t stayed in touch, I remember him with great fondness - a time of great memories. Comhbhrón ó chroí lena chlann agus a chairde ar fad.

I got to know Daniel when he worked in ChildVision and while I was not working in the same organisation, our professional activities brought us together regularly, and those activities very quickly developed into a great friendship.
Daniel was always cheerful and loved talking about his family. I particularly remember a work trip where we both ended up in London and spent several hours in a traditional English boozer.
