Fragrant flowers in perfumed bower
Purposefully waft their scents o’er
The open window’s sill
Lovingly enwrap the cancer-
Coma form until
Her nostrils fill
To tell the arrival of her Creator

The patient lies comatose
Her spirit entwining its body’s dwindling shell
Despairingly we cry “She suffers hell!”
Yet a defenceless smile upon her face arose,
As sacred inner-life calls and she glows

Silence enters before the coffin’s dead, sick-worn

Our feelings about God’s love badly torn
Recalling life-memories of her aplay

By His grace our grief is unknowingly shorn,

Dan was always so obliging, nothing was ever too much trouble. He was such a gentleman, with time for everyone. He will be sorely missed.
