I worked with Danielle whilst she was doing her PhD at Trinity and I was a research assistant. She was always so lovely and kind and very supportive of me when I left to change careers, giving me a beautiful pen and notebook which I used for years. I remember fondly many coffee mornings and a lot of laughter with her, as well as Secret Santas and trips like escape rooms. She was such a bright presence and always made time to chat to me and make me feel welcome as I'd only recently moved to Ireland. She was also so passionate and committed to researching LGBT+ lives with care and dignity, and always interesting to talk to. I am so sorry for Hazel and her family's loss.

Danielle was wonderful person, who was amazing caring to everyone who had any contact with her. I knew her from my time in Maynooth she was always such a joyful presence around the Campus. I will miss her and I know may others will too.

We crossed paths later in life, when I was studying social work & Danielle was a lecturer. We joked that we're probably cousins and turned out that we were.
