Danny was a pure gentleman off the field but on it he was as tough as nails and was a great man to have on your side.Danny always had Fermoy Soccer Club at heart and very seldom missed a home game and always enquired how the teams got on at the week-end.He has now gone to join the other legends of Fermoy Soccer Club in the heavenly skies where no doubt there will be great stories told of the great battles between Cork Road and the Plunketts in the NobleCup. Sad to learn of the passing of Dan. Many years ago he worked in our hardware shop in Fermoy. Dan was always so kind, pleasant, helpful and ever warm-hearted and good humoured. So many of that great generation are no longer with us but they leave behind so many wonderful memories. Dan was always so devoted to his dear Mother: now the bonds of closeness and love once broken by death are restored by it in a place where beyond all the cares of this world there is everlasting peace. Dan always had so much of heaven in him long before he ever reached it as he now has. His dogs always held a very special place of affection in his heart and he was never happier when caring and looking after them. Also for as long as he could he liked to tend the graves of people he knew and fondly recalled including that of our own dear parents. With lawnmower in hand and good wishes in his heart he found a sense of comfort and peace in that gentle and ever so kindly task. Now Dan is with them all again and assuredly received a beautiful welcome from all those whose memory we cherish. Till we meet again, they ask us to keep going and to do our best and they help us along on our journey in this worldwhether in sunshine or in rain. Dan's memory will always be blessed and may he forever rest in peace, David & Kevin Walsh
