On behalf of the Association of Referees, Connacht Branch, I would like to extend our
deepest sympathy to Catherine, Dermot, Emma and all the O'Neill family on the sad passing of Danny. R.I.P.
Danny served the Association from 1992 to 2005, as active referee, in various Committee roles, and as President 2002-03. He was passionate in his duties, and worked hard. Few could claim to have played and refereed in a Junior Cup final. He was very knowledgeable on the Laws of rugby, liked a debate, and was very helpful to Junior referees.
It is a pity that in this era of Covid lockdown, that all his all his Rugby colleagues, friends and work mates could not attend his funeral, give our sympathies in person, and recognise his contribution to sport and community.
