I came to know Daphne through the Royal Bridge Club and was allways impressed by her zest for life & living *she was allways going somewhere*. We had wonderful times together she was a great guest at luncheon parties she brought sociability,humour,fun,flair and style to the table.She reciprocated in a likewise manner as a wonderful Hostess in her and Tony's beautiful home.
She spoke with great dignity and pride in her family whilst poignantly remembering her cherished daughter Melissa.
As I reflect on Daphne as a person I am in total admiration of her Gallant acceptance of her fatal illness and her sheer determination to keep moving and she did this through her pursuit and enjoyment of her game of bridge and proved you can play and enjoy bridge to the 11th hour.Thank you Daphne you have by example convinced me to continue with my own bridge because *I too some day may need it*

We soldiered together in 1993 when we were the respective captains of Blainroe and Delgany.
I see we also share the same birth year, although I always thought of her as being of a younger vintage.
