So sorry to hear about Dara's passing. He was far too young. My condolences to Mairead and the boys and of course Mary, Orla, Sarah and Patrick. We were neighbours for our first few years and then we all grew up swimming and later, the surfing. I remember Dara fondly as a quiet-spoken, gentle, "sound-out", man with under-stated humour. I am very sorry for your loss. RIP Dara.

We knew Dara fir a long time and overlapped with him on many water safety occasions. The most recent of these was an attempt to designs and deliver a Surfer Awareness course. During these meetings Dara's two major interests, surfing and water safety, were combined. His passion, honesty and commitment were always obvious.
Hopefully this project will reach a successful outcome with much of this being attributed to Dara. May he rest in peace.

Very sad to hear the news about Dara. A true gentleman and a great loss to the world and our water safety family. My sincere condolances to Mairead, Oisin, Eoin, Sarah and all his family & friends. I met Dara through Water Safety and Dara gave of his time so generously. Manys a great memory of us out on the boat in Rossnowlagh figuring out the setup for the competition course, or in Daras case out of the boat one of those times.
