Not only was he a great musician and singer but he was also a great actor. I had the privilege of acting with him in some plays in Crusheen. He was a thorough gentleman and we had such great fun during rehearsals. Colm, Lord rest him had the patience of a saint !!!!

The singing world won't be the same without Darren, the spark of fun he brought to sessions and his amazing voice will be silent. He was a lovely person and I often stopped up for the chat when we met at festivals and sessions. He is massively missed. My deepest sympathy to all the Richmond family and friends.

So sorry to learn of Darren's passing. It was a great shock to everybody here in Crusheen who knew Darren. We heard him sing and play with local musicians on occasion and he had a nice little cliental built-up on his window cleaning rounds. Very pleasant and helpful man. May he rest in peace and watch over us til we all meet again for a session in the next world. 🙏
