Darrin, who I knew best in my younger days was one of my first real sporting role models and someone who I looked up to in awe. Such a gifted boxer and an all-round nice guy. He probably won't have known it, but he was quite inspirational and led the way for many of those around him, particularly in the gym. I am very thankful for having known him, the help, guidance and strength of character he helped instill in me.... and not to mention the odd clip in the ear he'd give you in the ring if you dropped your hands.
He will be sadly missed and always remembered.

Was shocked and saddened to hear of Skipps passing. I have very fond memories of teenage years growing up in New Ross and the craic we all had back then.
