I was so sorry to hear of Dave's death. I was fortunate to meet him on a visit to Ireland in 2016. He was a kind and gentle presence and wrote wonderful poems which I treasure. Condolences from Wisconsin, USA, from my wife Krista and me to his family and friends.

I am genuinely saddened to hear of Dave's sudden passing. Whenever he dropped into the Art Department in Old Bawn, we enjoyed great chats putting the world to rights and enjoying a good laugh! Dave's quick wit, rapid repartee and wicked sense of humour came to the fore! Dave was one of life's good guys. I offer my sincerest condolences to Dave's wife and family.

He was devoted to you Joan and to his family along with Manchester City and a 1990 Sunny. I loved our chats about premier league football and Leinster Senior league.
