My sympathies to David’s wife, Colette and his children Conor and Katie May.
I have such good and very clear memories of David and his siblings Raymond and Robert from childhood visits to my grannie who lived 2 doors down from them on Bregia Road. Claire and Rachel would be too young to remember days, indeed entire weeks, spent playing on that road. Raymond was the footballer but David was ‘sides’ and tennis. He was also the organiser of the teams.
I am sorry to hear of his early and unexpected death and hope the real affection and lovely memories of him shared here are some consolation to you all. Since his death I have spoken with some older local neighbours on Annaly and surrounding roads all of whom mentioned him spontaneously and they recall him being very kind and attentative to his grannie back in the day.
May his generous and kind soul rest in peace.

Wishing you all, the strength to persevere in the face of such a great loss. The celebration of life was lovely — we were tuned in and there in spirit although I wish we could have been there in person. Dave would have been very proud of Conor as he stood up and delivered the perfect eulogy.

He was an absolute pleasure to work with and was an expert at his job. He was also a great person and was always so kind. I worked on the same team as Dave during my time at SUSI and I was deeply saddened to hear of his sudden death. I was shocked and saddened when I heard last Thursday of the sudden passing of Dave. He was a great colleague and I loved working with him . A nicer, more helpful gentleman you will never meet . It is our loss not having him with us any longer .

I have fond memories of us all together as kids on Bregia Road and Annaly Road, with Dave overseeing Tennis matches, sides, and bulldog charge. The summers always seemed warm, and seemed to last forever. Vivid fond memories that came flooding back.
