David, over the years became very much part of our Lourdes family.
For those of us who were privileged to meander the High Stations in David's company, you always came away from them feeling inspired as David would always give us his own take on each Station.
He also liked to visit St. Bernadette's family grave as well as the Irish grave, where he would always lay fresh flowers. Again David would guide us in prayer and meditation at these two locations.
We pray Our Lady of Lourdes will enfold David in her arms with St. Bernadette close by.

Sincere condolences on the passing of David Barrett. David was a cherished pilgrim with us on the Kerry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes for many years. He was always deeply prayerful, grateful to be there, and unfailingly respectful to everyone around him. His Polaroid camera was never far away, capturing moments he clearly treasured, and he took great joy in participating in the ceremonies. The High Stations were a particular highlight for David and brought him great happiness. He will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of accompanying him. May David rest in peace.

You will be sadly missed but deeply in our thoughts and prayers on our Kerry diocese pilgrimage to Lourdes on early June next year where the highlight of your trip was the high stations, we will never forget those climbs,desents and words of wisdom at the celtic cross at the end.
