Deepest Sympathy to Dora and the Blood Family on the passing of David. I served alongside David for many years in the FAI.. His love of the Game knew no Bounds. He was a Junior football man to the hilt, you could meet David at a game anywhere and he would always have time to talk about the game in Mayo or indeed anywhere in the country . He held the position of President of the FAI with distinction, and was always prepared to listen to everybody he talked too. He was a real Gentleman.

Football took up a lot of his time, but his first love was always Dora, and her name came up in many conversations.

He will be missed by so many of his football friends, but especially by Barney, who was always at his side for football decisions. May his gentle soul Rest in Peace

I had the pleasure of sitting on the FAI Referees Committee in Merrion Square representing the Connacht Football Association when David took the chair on occasion but the first time I met him for a fun time was at the SFAI 75th Anniversary in the Red Cow Hotel. Fran Wray said will you sing a song and i said I will but it’s a Rebel Song. He said sing what you like. Anyway coming down after giving ‘Sean South of Garryowen’ I met David on the way up and being the gentleman he was he shook my hand and said Well Done. One thing I loved about the Dubs when coming up from the country for anything was they were great for a sing song and David was as good as the best of them.
