Good runner.

I was very sorry to hear about the passing of my Uncle David Browne.

When we were kids and visited Ireland, I remember him giving us Fanta and KitKats, and at the time I thought it was the greatest thing ever. It’s a small memory, but one that always stayed with me.

David was religious and philosophical and had a way of bringing laughter wherever he went. He loved good conversations and always took an interest in your life, asking questions and really listening. He took pleasure in simple acts and seemed to truly live in the moment, enjoying the presence of the people around him.

He also loved his fish and chips and never missed an opportunity for a few chips, even if he had already eaten his dinner.

I’m very grateful that I got to call him my uncle. I know he will now be reunited with Nanny, Gaggy, and Tommy in heaven.

May he rest in peace.

Happy memories of training with Davey around Tramore and competing many cross country/road competitions around the country. He was indeed inspirational with his training schedules that were ahead of his time. A top class athlete who lived and loved his sport. RIP Davey

I was so sorry to hear about David's passing. We had many a great chat over the years, many of them were over the back garden wall from Marian Terrace to Springmount. He was always friendly and engaging, a good neighbour, a fine athlete in his day, and was always nice to my Mam and Dad over the years. May he rest in peace.
