David BURBRIDGE

I wish to say how sorry l was to hear of my dearest friend David who l have known for many years.
I have great memories of our chats when l would visit my best friend Joan and David would come in from his band practice. My best memories were when l would be over for all the girls birthday parties he would always be there coming home to take photos. A great father. May God help Joan and the Girls and give them the strength through this very sad time.

My heartfelt condolences to Avril and all the family. Dave was a true gentleman and a dedicated bandsman. He was so welcoming and encouraging to me as young musician when I first started playing with DCB about 10 years ago, a great role model and always making people laugh with his many stories. He will be sorely missed, may he rest in peace.

Dave, I’ve such fond memories of you and your support. As a very young conductor, you always supported me, made me feel welcome and took an interest. Something I’ll always remember. Anytime I was in the band world you made an effort to chat and and see how it was all going. Such a loss to your family and friends. I hope you are playing up there with a pint beside you.

To David's wife Joan and family and extended family. I was dreadfully sad to read of David's passing, please accept my deepest sympathy. David and I were great friends during our Leaving Certificate years in O'Connell Secondary School in 1966. I am a musician as David was and I travelled to David's home every Friday night to share a musical evening with David; David played trumpet of course and I played piano. I emigrated to Sydney Australia in 1970 and so I haven't seen David since our school days, but we did keep in touch by email. May he forever Rest in Peace.
