An die Familie Carroll, mein herzliches Beileid und viel Kraft für diese sehr schwierige Zeit. Leider habe ich erst jetzt erfahren dass Dave "nach Hause" gegangen ist. O'Reillys war früher meine Stammkneipe in Stuttgart und Dave war ein exzellenter Wirt und Gastgeber - immer ein Witz auf der Zunge. Mit Besucher aus Irland und mit der Gruppe von der Volkshochschule haben wir viel gelacht und gesungen. Es war wie ein Wohnzimmer zu Hause. Seine SLT-Sandwiches habe ich immer so gerne gegessen. Ich werde für Sie und Dave beten!

My deepest sympathy to Mrs Carroll and family on the bereavement of your dear Dave! O'Reilly's Irish Pub was my living room for many years in Stuttgart. I'd take my family when visiting from Ireland and the classes from the VHS into see David and enjoy the "rough and ready" Irish cuisine. Dave had an encyclopedia of jokes on his mind, he was Dublin's answer to Frank Carson. It was like stepping into Ireland when you went to the Reuchlinstrasse to visit Dave and the team. I saw him in Vogelsang about a year ago and he was in good form. When he retired, he left a huge gap and many of us here still miss him. I am very sorry to hear this dreadful news. Please be assured that you are in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. To Dave: Farewell, Orfella! Rest in peace!

I was so sorry when i heard the news of Davids passing .💔
He was such a lovely kind hearted man with such a great sense of humour and wit .
He used to come visit my dad when he was home and they used to remininse on great times growing up .
