David Connolly

We were devastated to hear the sad news of David's ultimely passing only now. We offer our sincerest sympathies to his beloved Linda, mother Mary, brother Peter, relatives, friends and colleagues. David was a fine musician and an outstanding person. He always had a special welcome for us at the organ recitals in St Michael's, Dún Laoghaire. Gura móide teaghlach Dé a anam dílis.

So sorry to hear the loss of David, he was the conductor of the ladies choir in my first year in college and I enjoyed every practise with him. Such a lovely person, shocked to hear this. My thoughts are with his family.

My memory of David would be during the summer from 91 to 95 at Crover pier, Lough Sheelin, Co. Cavan. I thought this little guy and his brother Peter how to swim. 25 years ago but they both left a lasting impression. Two gentlemen with a great mother. So sad to hear of David's passing.

When I was a student at NUI Maynooth, David was my keyboard harmony lecturer. I could not have asked for a better teacher. He managed to make even the dullest exercises fun and was always encouraging. David was a truly gifted teacher and he had a hugely positive influence on me and many others. He will be missed!
