Very sad to hear of Daves passing. From the first time i met Dave a number of years ago, we got on like a house on fire. I can only describe meeting Dave as bumping into a long lost best pal from the 1980s. I had many a good chat & many laughs with him. As they would say in London town , he was an absolute diamond geezer. Condolences to Daves family & bandmates. May he rest in peace.

You made the best years of my life, the best years of my life. What a blast we had, every day was an adventure with you Davy, from the trips to the video store, to the snook inn, to playing chess in greenish village, to New Orleans, Disney… the list could go on for ever… we laughed for years.
You had a mighty send off in Wicklow, and are somewhere in the ether now, but you’ll never be gone far from me mind or heart.

Such a gentle and happy soul, sure to always put a smile on anyone’s face!

Found out tonight about the passing. We called him English Dave when he worked for me in New York in the early 80's building the Lorelies testaurant. What a wonderful personality! We all loved him and met him in Wicklow over the years. So sad that we just found out in the last hour. May he rest in peace.

We were shocked to hear of Daves passing. He was one of my closest friends. It was an honour to have known him and to have been able to witness his creativity and his joy for life. I enjoyed sharing the stage with you over the years.

Dave had an infectious personality, full of stories, with a great sense of humour. He displayed an evident generosity, in his support for his music scene, and shone with the courage to front a band, sing his mind, with a rare genius to do so in his original way, peppered with his humour, personality and perspectives!
