David was one of the most pleasant and popular people we have known for over 50 years.
His great sense of humor and singing voice was David’s trademark.
We were very fortunate to have known David and his lovely family for all these years.

I worked with Dave in Auto Rod Pipe and Drain and Rilta. He was a great character and brilliant at his job. Always enjoyed working with him and a great singer too. Deepest sympathies to the Durran family at this sad time. RIP Dave

I befriended Dave fifty years ago when we were both motorbike mad. A warm, loving and all round incredibly lovely guy. Sitting in the back garden shed whilst Dave reassembled a bike that was in a thousand pieces, I listened in absolute AWE as he belted out one magic song after another. The odd silly joke in between. Golden days - Golden memories. Condolences to all his lovely brothers, sisters & wider family. RIP Dave.

To say I am so sorry to hear of Dave's passing doesn't even come close! What a guy, so genuine and always good for a laugh. The craic will now be ninety in heaven just like it was here on Earth as you were a 1 off and will be sadly missed. Rest in Peace Dave.

Shocked may not be strong enough a word to describe how i am feeling tonight to find out that a chap i knew from Val Hatton's pub on the Drimnagh road and whom i had the odd drink with .A chap[ who i would like to call a friend as we got to know each other more over the year's.Later on in life ,our path's crossed and i did some work for David and he gave me one of his CD's that i still have , David had a fantastic voice and reminded me of David Essex.The odd thursday he would sing up in Marley park ...Taylor's Grange. God rest your soul David ,my good friend and may you shine way up above as much as you shined down below . Until we meet again my friend .

Dave was a fantastic friend & neighbour to myself Martin & our children especially his oul pal/workmate our Dylan. The 2 of them were always laughing together. Dave was good craic always telling us jokes or singing us an oul song. He had a great sense of humour and was a big kid at heart. He absolutely adored his children Amber, young David, Amy & Christopher & was forever telling us how proud he was of each one of them and their accomplishments in life. Ray you were a brilliant brother & Davids best friend. The way yourself and your sisters looked after him through his illness was admirable. Dave always spoke so lovingly of his parents & his siblings growing up on Kildare Rd in Crumlin. His mother was the apple of his eye & I hope his family get comfort knowing he is now at peace and back in the arms of his Mammy once again ❤️ Rest in Heavenly Peace Dave you Legend. I'm sure your singing with all the beautiful angels up there now pal , God rest your kind soul🙏

We are heartbroken 💔 to hear about our Uncle Dave. He was full of character, a remarkable singer - we'll always remember him belting out Elvis - and such a wonderfully funny man.
