I live right across the road from David. I only found out what happened on Saturday. He was such a nice man and will be sadly missed.

I only heard last week about David passing he was such a lovely fella and always in great humour when we met in supervalue Thinking of all your family at this sad and difficult time May he have got the best bed in heaven back with his mam and dad now 😢 🙏⚘

My sincere condolences to the Groome family. I was shocked and saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Dave. I knew him for over thirty years and we had many great chats in that time, both in person and over the phone. It was a privilege to call him a friend, so genuine and so considerate of others. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.

Dave was a sensitive soul and a true friend. I have many happy memories of him stretching back well over 30 years. It was always fun to be in Dave's company. He cared deeply for others, felt their plight and burdens and helped them out where he could. He was devoted to his parents, and was especially caring to his mother in her final years, a role he gladly undertook, considering it a privilege. It is a terrible wrench to realise that Dave will no longer be on the other end of a phoneline, or that his laughter will be heard no more. We must all now cherish our memories of him and hope that he has now at peace.

I feel privileged to have been deemed a friend of Dave's, for he was surely a friend of mine.

Very saddened to hear of the loss of your dear brother. My thoughts and deepest condolences are with you all today.
