I can't believe you're gone...
Before COVID Dave was my customer at the juice bar. He often came for juices and pancakes. He always joked and promised to show me and my friends Alicante. We will always remember you with a smile on our faces. Fly high Dave. Rest in peace 🖤

Dear David

I would like to Thank You for the kindness you showed me when I arrived as a boy at your father's shop in St Ann's Road, Tottenham, North London from Guyana in 1976.

You took me to the old White Hart Lane to see Spurs play the then European Champions, Liverpool. I could have chosen to support Liverpool but i chose Tottenham Hotspurs because of you. There was also the additional reason that i probably would not have got home alive. I remember asking you to buy me a scarf and you indicated it was not such a good idea, particularly as the local skinheads would be looking for a reason to kick off, excuse the pun :) .

Thanks also for coming to my mother's funeral. With hindsight it was not such a good idea, as you had your stroke the next day in London.

I will play a song for you on my guitar for you tomorrow at the Warrington Hotel where i am performing my Lyric-Poetry. I am having a shot of rum in your memory at the local Vue cinema in Swiss Cottage as i only just got the news of your passing a week ago.
