Deepest sympathy to Maura Fiona Ian Owen Alan and the extended family.. As you know Dave was my best friend for too many years to mention.. We travelled many roads together and did many things together..He was a true loyal friend and my heart is broken that he has passed so quickly..I will miss our chats during the week and my visits.. Thinking of you all at this awful difficult time.. Sorry I couldn’t be there in person but my heart was there.. Rest in peace my old pal..

I only learned of David's sudden death from Maura and unfortunately was away for his funeral. I was David's neighbour in The Innings since the beginnings of these apartments and we had great chats on a regular basis. I enjoyed his sense of humour and his wry commentary of the world around us. I will miss him

Sincere sympathy to the McManus family on Dave's sudden passing. He was a dedicated Community Mental Health Nurse, who had a wealth of clinical knowledge and a deep understanding of industrial relations issues. Dave did his upmost to advance the role of the CMHN/CNS and contributed to many documents and submissions. I first got to know Dave during the Commission on Nursing review. He was a wonderful colleague and valued friend to all in the Association of Community Mental Health Nurses of Ireland and he will be greatly missed. Ar dheis Dé go raibh an anam.

I was so sorry to hear of Dave’s death. He was a valued colleague in the provision of mental health services in the Crumlin area. He liked good music and in later years I met him on a couple of occasions at the National Concert Hall lunchtime concerts. Condolences to his family.
