My sincere condolences to Dave's family on your sad loss. I played in a few bands over the years with Dave. He was a gentleman - a great character with a great sense of humour who was a pleasure to play with. May he rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to hear just now of Daves passing. I met him in 1988 while he was playing in Michael O'Briens band and I was with them for a couple of nights. Met him again years later when he was driving Johnny McEvoy. He was very helpful and encouraging to a young lad like me who wanted to be in the music business. May he rest in peace.

R.I.P. Dave. A tremendous loss to music. One of life’s true gentlemen. He’ll be sadly missed.

I was very sorry to learn of Dave’s death and offer my sincere sympathies to his family. He was a committed and loyal trade unionist, and a principled activist; always generous with his knowledge and support. His death represents a huge loss to all who care about the trade union movement. Workers have lost a great friend, and so have I.
