It was with great sadness I learned of Davy's death - a gentle man and a gentleman. So many memories came flooding back from playing football with Kilmaine to working beside him in the bog.

Had the pleasure of sitting with Davy at the celebration of Carras Minor success at the last Garrymore function that my uncle Mick Heaney attended as he passed a few months after. Mick was over the team of '59 and referring to possible suspicious activity of fifty years earlier, Davy said to Mick when he arrived "Whose names are we playing under tonight".
