To Louise, David, Sarah and Joe, all family, friends and connections, I extend my sympathy on learning of the death of David. Our paths first crossed at a MKB Community Council meeting and with us both knowing something about numbers, he hinted that we might get together sometime and chat about the Sandilands Committee Report on Inflation Accounting just published (exciting stuff!). It is only dawning on me fifty years later; might there have been a bit of leg pulling going on there? We last met at the AGM of the local financial institution and as we dunked digestive biscuits afterwards, he gave me thumbs up that my soapbox forensic line of questioning on a thorny issue that night was pretty apt. May David rest in peace.
