It was a privilege to know David, he had such a great smile and was so friendly to all his classmates and staff. He loved to go around our school hall every morning saying hello and giving high fives to all the staff and students, while his love of Michael Jackson and baking were beautifully captured on video during his time here. He enriched the lives of all of us in Scoil Bernadette, and we are grateful for that.

David taught me so much as a teacher and I look back on our year together with such fond memories … singing Michael Jackson and ABBA at a moment’s notice which culminated in a fabulous performance during a Talent Show, seeing his competitive streak while learning to play bowls with Jack, asking to please please please read one more chapter of The Boy in the Dress by David Willams as a class (which he then loved to listen to on CD during quiet moments with Marie), baking and cooking throughout the year and creating body scrubs for Mother’s Day! The year was jam packed with lovely memories. His determination, sense of humour and love for everything Spanish was to the fore each and every day. Sending heartfelt sympathies at this difficult time.

David's smile was heart melting. His chocolate brown eyes and raven black shiny hair, such a delightful boy with many passionate loves in his life...Top of the list were his mum’s cooking, ,his joy of singing his favourite ABBA, Beach Boys,and Michael Jackson classics. Sharing a smile and a song is how I will remember him best.

David’s big heart and personality were contagious!. I remember his love of singing Michael Jackson , Pokemon , playing carcassonne ( I always lost!) dancing and his sense of fun ! David was a true inspiration to everyone around him. I count myself so lucky to have known him for the time that I did.

These are a few fond memories of David from the staff of St. Columba’s
I have many memories from my time teaching David. I will always remember David's love for singing and dancing. When his favourite music was played, a bright little smile would appear on his face followed by some hearty singing and joyful dancing.
At Halloween, David loved to wear his Ironman superhero costume...which is ironic because David himself was the real hero. He was an inspiration to us all.
