Very sorry to hear the news of David's death. He is a huge loss.
I met David 46 years ago when we both started our law degree courses. Fond memories of those student years. When we last met a few years ago his wit and charm were still striking. RIP David
Sincere condolences to all of David's family. We worked with David in 162 a long time ago and have fond memories of him. Thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
Dear Siobhan
We were so sad to hear of the death of your brother David.
Our deepest sympathies to you and all of David’s family.
Sincere condolences to David's family. I worked with David on the Harvard business school club in Ireland for a few years. He was an interesting character full of possibilities. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
My sincere condolences to David's family and friends. Like everyone in our french class, I was shocked and saddened to hear the news of David's passing.
I always enjoyed David's interesting and well informed conversations, particularly about his travels.
He will be sadly missed by our class.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.
I was shocked and saddened to hear about David. We were so happy to have him back in French class, full of his well-known spirit in spite of being through such a difficult period. Rest in peace - Lauren
We were so very fond of Daithí, and will always remember him with deep affection and fondness. He was his own person—thoughtful, generous, and always so uniquely true to himself. At our wedding he gave us a beautiful Stephen Cullen painting. He saw Dave admiring it so, being Dave, he just went and got it for us. It’s a lovely reminder of a true and great friend of so many years, and it still hangs proudly in our home in pride of place.

Our friendship with Dave spanned over forty years. He was a true friend — always there to support us through good times and bad — and he’ll always hold a special place in our hearts.

Our sincere condolences to all his family and friends.

David taught several undergraduate and graduate courses at American College Dublin for over 10 years. His immense knowledge was complemented by his hand-on experience as an expert practitioner in global business. His course materials were written with great clarity, insight and unique verve, covering the very latest trends. He was hugely encouraging and supportive to all his students, scrupulously fair and compassionate. He was a great colleague, friendly and utterly reasonable at all times. David is deeply regretted and greatly missed by the College community.
My deepest condolences to David's family and close friends on his passing. David was an exceptional human being and friend. We worked together for many years, since our time together at BCG London and later in Bolivia and Peru in resources exploration and production. David is resting in God's kingdom; my prayers are with David and his family in this very difficult moment.
Siobhan,

Dear Fiona,

Sincere condolences to you, Paul and Eve on the personal loss for yourselves on the death of your brother, David. David was a giant, capable of assessing and adapting himself to varied forms of thinking and action with versatility while remaining humble and concerned for others. Ad vitam aeternam.

I’m so sorry to hear of David’s death. I met him several times through his great friendship with my brother Seamus. He was always fascinating to talk to & incredibly intelligent. His enquiring & adventurous way of thinking always positively challenged conventional ways of viewing career progressions & norms. Deepest sympathy to his family & friends. May he rest in peace.
I had the honor to know Mr. Horgan and to listen as he shared his profound insights on the subjects he mastered. He was knowledgeable yet humble, passionate about learning, and always eager to teach and inspire those around him.
It is devastating to hear about his passing. His spirit and wisdom will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family during this difficult time. May they find solace in the cherished memories he leaves behind.
Very sorry to hear the sad news about David. He was a tremendous ambassador for the oil and gas industry and will be greatly missed.
Sincere condolences to his family.
It was a privilege to know David. He was a remarkable, interesting and kind person. Merci David pour ton enthousiasme, ta gentillesse et les conversations.
Condolences to family and friends.
Bhí an-áthas orm i gcónaí orm Daithí Horgan a bheith liom ar an raidió agus ar an bpodchraoladh araon.
Fear álainn, glic agus léannta a bhí ann — i gcónaí suimiúil, i gcónaí léirsteanach, agus chomh bródúil sin as a chuid Ghaeilge (níor scríobh ná labhair sé liom ach as Gaeilge).
Mar chomhartha beag ómóis, táim tar éis an t-agallamh leis ó Mhárta 2022 ar That Great Business Show a athfhoilsiú — comhrá a léiríonn a eagna, a fhís agus a chineáltas.
Go ndéana Dia trócaire ar a anam uasal.
— Conall Ó Móráin

I loved having David on both radio and podcasts with me. Such a lovely, clever and erudite man. Always entertaining, always insightful and proud as punch of his Gaeilge (he only spoke and wrote as Gaeilge to me).
As a small tribute, I have reposted his March 2022 interview on That Great Business Show, a conversation that reflects his wisdom, his foresight, and his decency.
May he rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear of the untimely passing of David. He was a great friend and advisor to my Dad, who thought the world of him, as did all of our family. He was exceptionally generous with his time and intellect, was a trail blazer, loved life and we will miss him. Thank you David for everything. May you rest in peace now.
Siobhan , please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of your brother , David .
Truly shocked and stunned to learn of the passing of David, one of the most articulate and intelligent of all my ex-pupils in Dundrum, and an extremely nice person. On his arrival from Belfast in the later '60's he quickly surveyed the scene, and developed an early understanding of the offshore oil exploration situation. Wry, humorous and intelligent, David stood out as being interested in all things cultural, historical and indeed, political, but with a twinkle in his eye. May he rest eternally in the Lord's Heavenly Kingdom, at His right hand. Go raibh leaba aige i measc na Naomh go deo na ndeor.

May his legacy inspire future generations in the industry."
