Heartfelt condolences to Angela and family.I was introduced to Dave and Angela at the PNA conference through their close friend Maureen Burns. Dave was a lovelly interesting man who bore his illness with bravery and dignity with Angela by his side.Rest in peace Dave you deserve it.

Dave brought a generosity of spirit, wisdom, and unwavering belief in equality & fairness, in all communities he touched.

A brilliant communicator who brought tremendous encouragement in his presence, words, and actions and more recently met the grittiness of life fearlessly and skillfully. Dave was one of life’s precious people - who warmly welcomed every person he met with that big bright sparkle in his eye .

Angela we are so sorry for your loss thank you for sharing the laughs & precious time with Dave, we are holding you deep in our hearts . Our thoughts & prayers are with Freda, Irene, Christopher David & extended family & all Dave’s many colleagues & friends at this time .

Sincere and deepest condolences to Angela, Freda, Irene, Christopher, Patrick, Mick, Anne Marie, Winifred and Dave's extended family on his passing. He was always involved in helping his local community whether it was Phoenix FM, St. Mochtas FC or any other local group. He was an active trade unionist, he had an intricate knowledge of history, politics, sport and industrial relations which served him well for many years. He was a great quizmaster and quiz team mate for many years. Most of all I found David to be a very, kind, supportive and committed friend to me and to many. Slan go foill Dave a chara, may you rest in peace and in power.

What a giant of a man! His love for life, his family, his colleagues and friends knew no bounds.

Dave was an inspiration to many Trade Union activists in the CPSU Telecom Eireann branches nationwide and it was an honour and a privilege to have stood the ground beside him on our National Committee for many years. I last met Dave last year in the Castleknock Hotel and his bright wonderful smile and wit had not deserted him. Rest In Peace Comrade.

Dave was a man of huge conviction and integrity, who used his immense intelligence to improve the lives of workers in all workplaces throughout his life. He stayed involved in progressing workers' issues to the end. The courage and dignity with which he bore his illness was awesome to witness. David was an upstanding and an outstanding gentleman!

I met him through my work many years ago when he was deputy secretary of the INO as it was then, INMO now. I worked with him more recently when we were both Board Members of 92.5 Phoenix FM.

I offer my sincere condolences to his wife Angela, his children, grandchildren and the extended family. I will remember you all in my prayers at this sad time of your loss. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Sincere condolences to Angela and the entire family on your tremendous loss. Dave was one of a kind and a loyal friend to many including lots of Fórsa members who knew him from his time working in the LGPSU, the CPSU and IMPACT. I knew Dave since the 1980s and we then worked closely from 1994-98 in IMPACT before soldiering together in our respective leadership roles for health workers over the following decade or so. He has left a large legacy of achievement as a result of his efforts but he will be particularly remembered with fondness and affection for his kindness and support to individuals and to his community. It can truly be said that he fought the brave fight.
