We were saddened to hear of the passing of Dave.

The news came to us via the ECO, the Office (then ERO) where we were colleagues of Dave’s many years ago, back in the 90s.

We are very sorry that you passed away too early. You have been a very active manager in development of the CEPT and ERO both for us on a national basis but also internationally. You were very active organisationally but also supporting us in developing the national frequency management. You have been my personal friend for many years. I will never forget you.

I enjoyed and will always remember working closely with Dave on our mutual amateur radio interests supporting the IARU and the amateur radio community. He encouraged me to become more involved, and we will always benefit from his tremendous legacy defending the radio spectrum and interests of the amateur radio community. Never did catch him on 4m though!

We were deeply saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. He was a respected and much-admired colleague whose dedication, vision, and leadership left a lasting impact on the European and global radiocommunications community.

As Director of the European Radiocommunications Office during the formative years of the ERO Convention, Dave played a vital role in laying the institutional and strategic foundations for what would become a key pillar of the European spectrum landscape. His steady leadership and commitment to international cooperation helped establish a trusted and effective organisation, whose continued success owes much to his efforts.

Dave’s legacy lives on in the strength of the Office he helped build and in the many professionals he mentored and inspired along the way.

Above all, Dave will be remembered by all who had the privilege of working with him not only for his accomplishments, but for his warmth, integrity, and generous spirit. He will be sorely missed.
