My sincere sympathies. I worked with David as a young trainee accountant at Irish Distillers, and closely together on a team during the Pernod Ricard takeover. David was a lovely man who taught me a lot in a very calm and measured way. I have since tried to manage my own staff in a similar, mentoring way. I never got a chance to say this to David, but he was a quiet hero to me and a number of the IDL staff.
