Very sorry to hear of David’s passing. I have lovely memories of David playing with me when he visited our family in London in the 1980’s. Such a laugh we had! Fifty years ago the start of a perfect day was a knock at the door and you asking my mother if we could "just go for a spin on our bikes?"

Hours of imagination and fun later we'd return home starving but vowing to do the same the next day. And we did, day after day, in those endless and wonderous days of boyhood.

Our paths diverged after 1976; a lifetime ago.

Now I wish you that lifetime's worth of fun on your very last bike spin.

I was friendly with David in primary and secondary school. I never knew anyone with as much spirit, pluck and fearlessness. He was fun and witty, had a good heart and was kind to people who had less than him. Even though many years have passed since our school days, it seems like yesterday. I was very sad to hear of David's death and pray that he is at rest.
